Freshest Ingredients in Palm Beach

Guild Hall’s series Stirring the Pot: Conversations with Chef Celebrities, sponsored by VistaBlue Singer Island, wraps up this Sunday with Chef Daniel Humm, who some consider the greatest chef in America. His New York restaurant Eleven Madison Park ranks No. 1 on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.

His story is one of passion. Humm told Esquire magazine in a feature that when working in Switzerland he would get up at six in the morning three times a week to get the freshest ingredients from a local market. “Being a great chef depends on cooking well, sure,” Humm told  Esquire. “But a lot of it comes down to shopping well.”

If you agree with Humm, Palm Beach County boasts fresh market options offering a variety of farm grown vegetables and organic spices in the area. West Palm Beach Green Market, open from the beginning of October through the end of May, also offers unlimited Mimosas for $10 and free activities for kids. The Farmers Market at Harbourside Place in Jupiter is a year-round market lining the waterway, open every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

When looking for those quality ingredients that will give your cooking a secret touch, the green markets in Palm Beach can offer some help!
